Barbora Spotakova will miss the 2018 season due to pregnancy with her second child, according to Sport24.

At 36, Spotakova has had a long and still prosperous career in the javelin. She won Olympic titles in 2008 and 2012, earning bronze in 2016. She is also the reigning world champion, having also won the world title in 2007.

She currently plans to resume training in the fall with the goal of successful 2019 and 2020 seasons, including competing at the 2020 Olympic Games.
