Matthew Centrowitz Returns to East Coast, Skipping IndoorsPublished by
Matthew Centrowitz To Skip Indoors and Race in Australia InsteadBy Adam Kopet Matthew Centrowitz announced on Instagram this weekend that he has moved back to the east coast, specifically the Maryland and Washington D.C. area. Centrowitz grew up in Maryland and attended Broadneck MD. The Olympic 1,500-meter champion remains a member of the Oregon Project and will continue to be coached by Alberto Salazar. However, his father, Matt Centrowitz, will play a significant role in his training. Also a part of Centrowitz's announcement was his intention to skip indoors this year. Instead, he will travel to Australia and race in several meets being held in the lead up to the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast. This means Centrowitz will not defend the IAAF World Indoor Championships 1,500-meter title he won in 2016 in Portland. More news |
