Chris Derrick Withdraws from Saturday's USATF Cross Country Championships with Potential Injury

Chris Derrick has withdrawn from Saturday's USATF Cross Country Championships, citing a hamstring issue, according to a social media post from Derrick.

After waiting 12 long years to avenge all my high school losses to @EvanJager in XC, I will very disappointingly have to withdraw from the @usatf XC Champs this Saturday. I have a hamstring issue and I am very much not about that injury cycle life anymore.

Derrick won three consecutive USATF Cross Country titles in 2013, 2014 and 2015. He represented the U.S. at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in 2013 and 2015 (the event is only held in odd years), where his highest finish was 10th in 2013.
