Hellen Obiri is Among the Leading Contenders for the Kenya Cross Country Championships Win

Hellen Obiri will be racing Saturday at the Kenya Cross Country Championships, according to William Njuguna of The Star.

The 2017 IAAF World Championships 5,000-meter gold medalist will be one of the favorites for the Kenyan championships.

Obiri will be challenged by 18-year-old Celliphine Chespol, the Kenyan record holder for the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

The men's race is led by Geoffrey Kamworor, who is preparing to defend his IAAF World Half Marathon title next month.
