Canadian Middle Distance Runner Nate Brannen Retires from Competitive RunningBy Adam Kopet Nate Brannen announced his retirement from competitive running Monday.
He represented Canada three times at the Olympics, making the 1,500-meter final for the first time in 2016. Brannen also ran at seven IAAF World Championships. Brannen ran for the University of Michigan and was in the same class as Alan Webb, before Webb left school after his freshman year. At Michigan, Brannen won two NCAA titles. Brannen coaches at St. Edward OH. He paced his athletes through a workout in his first day of retirement.
