Dawn Harper-Nelson Will Make 2018 Season Her Last

By Adam Kopet

Gene Cherry of Reuters reports Dawn Harper-Nelson will retire at the end of the 2018 season.

Harper-Nelson, 33, won Olympic gold in the 100-meter hurdles in 2008. She also won Olympic silver in 2012 and medaled at the 2011 and 2017 IAAF World Outdoor Championships. She is also a four-time U.S. champion.

Having already completed two of her three life bucket list items, Olympic gold and marriage, Harper-Nelson plans to become a mom.

However, before Harper-Nelson retires, she still has goals to complete on the track. She wants to improve her personal best of 12.37, which she set at the 2012 Olympics, and win the Diamond League final.
