USATF Reopens Bidding for 2020 U.S. Olympic TrialsPublished by
2020 Olympic Track and Field Trials Up For Grabs By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor The legal fight between Mt. San Antonio College and the United Walnut Taxpayers (UWT) appears to have cost Walnut, Calif. the right to host the 2020 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Team Trials. A release Tuesday from USATF declared that the bidding had re-opened for the Trials and the decision had been made by a unanimous vote of USATF board members. The announcement comes despite the fact that just two weeks ago the disputes between the City of Walnut and the college had largely been resolved. Mt. SAC was preparing to move ahead with the $62 million renovation of Hilmer Lodge Stadium. Tuesday's release also said that USATF expects to re-award the 2020 Trials no later than this June.
