Indiana State Record Holder in High Jump, Nate Patterson, Will Compete Collegiately for USC

By Adam Kopet

Nate Patterson, the Indiana state record holder in the high jump, has signed with USC, according to David Woods of the Indianapolis Star.

Patterson, a 2018 graduate of Plymouth IN, cleared a record 7-4 (2.23m) to win the high jump at the Indiana state meet two weeks ago. He is the top prep high jumper in the country this year.

Before Patterson ends his final high school season, however, he is scheduled to compete in this week's USATF Junior Outdoor Championships in Bloomington, IN. Action gets underway Friday and is available to watch on USATF.TV with a +PLUS subscription.

The men's high jump is one of the storylines to follow in Bloomington. The top two finishers in each event at the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships will be selected to compete for Team USATF at the IAAF World U20 Championships on July 10-15 in Tampere, Finland.
