Usain Bolt Plays 20 Minutes of Professional Soccer in AustraliaBy Adam Kopet Usain Bolt has finally made his professional soccer debut. The former sprinter and world record holder from Jamaica came on in the 71st minute Friday for the Central Coast Mariners in a match against Central Coast Football, according to Sky Sports. Bolt has tried out with several soccer clubs around the world, but was finally given a chance to compete for a contract with the Central Coast Mariners in Australia. He played 20 minutes for the club, starting out on the left wing. He wore No. 95 in his debut, an homage to his 100-meter world record time of 9.58. Bolt found himself in the box with several scoring opportunities in his short stint, but he was unable to score as his club went on to win 6-1. More news |
