Once Again, For Tuohy It's a Course RecordPublished by
Tuohy Breaks Own Record at Bowdoin Park By John Nepolitan of DyeStat Katelyn Tuohy wasn't going all out Saturday but she still rolled through Bowdoin Park and took seven seconds off her own course record at the Section 1 Coaches Invitational in New York. Tuohy, a junior at North Rockland NY, ran 16:45.2, a time that would have placed eighth in the merge with four boys races, over the 5,000-meter course. She ran 16:52.4 at the park last year. Tuohy could have as many as three more chances to race on the course and take the record even lower this fall, including the Section 1 Championships, the New York Federation Championships and NXN New York regional. The fastest boys time on the day belonged to Behailu Bekele-Acruri of Warwick Valley NY, who ran 16:13.7 in the Varsity Boys 3 race. |
