Sydney McLaughlin to be Coached by Olympic Gold Medalist Joanna HayesBy Adam Kopet Sydney McLaughlin will be coached by Joanna Hayes, according to Tap into Edison. McLaughlin turned professional, signing with New Balance, following her freshman track season at the University of Kentucky where she won the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor title in the 400-meter hurdles and broke the collegiate record in the event with a time of 52.75. That time also was the 2018 world lead. Hayes was the 2004 Olympic gold medalist in the 100-meter hurdles. She owns a personal best of 12.37 seconds. Hayes is currently a volunteer assistant coach for the sprints and hurdles at USC. McLaughlin has already made the move to Los Angeles. The story was first reported by Jim Lambert. More news |
