Ayden Owens Transfers from USC to Michigan After Freshman YearPublished by
Top Decathlon Freshman Ayden Owens TransfersBy Adam Kopet Ayden Owens was the top freshman collegian in the NCAA ranks this season, but the USC freshman has announced on Instagram that he is tranferring to Michigan.
Owens earned a score of 8,130 points in April at the Bryan Clay Invitational, ranking him second in the NCAA this season. However, he didn't score at the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships after failing to clear his opening height in the high jump on the first day of the decathlon, a disappointing conclusion after placing sixth in the heptathlon in March at the NCAA Division 1 Indoor Championships. Prior to beginning his season at USC, Owens graduated from North Allegheny PA where he won state titles in the 110 and 300-meter hurdles as well as the 200 meters his senior year. He also won the 60-meter hurdles at 2018 New Balance Nationals Indoor and the decathlon at the 2017 New Balance Nationals Outdoor. More news |
