The BAUHAUS Galan in Stockholm is Leaving the Diamond League for 2020

Stockholm has hosted a Diamond League meet since the league began in 2010. That will change in 2020 after the Diamond League board decided to remove Stockholm from the Diamond League, according to BAUHAUS Galan meet organizers.

Much is changing with the Diamond League for 2020, including a shorter format and fewer events. It will now include fewer meets as well.

Meet organizers have stated their intention to continue the meet. Future editions will include a more Swedish focus.

The BAUHAUS Galan, previously known as the DN Galan until 2015, had previously been an IAAF Super Grand Prix meet prior to joining the Diamond League. The meet history goes back to its inception in 1967.

The 2020 edition of the BAUHAUS Galan is set for May 24.
