Hakim Sani Brown Turns Pro After Two Years at FloridaBy Adam Kopet Hakim Sani Brown announced on Twitter Thursday that he has elected to turn pro (in Japanese). His decision comes eight months before the start of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
Sani Brown has spent the past two years competing for Florida. This past year, as a sophomore, he finished third at the NCAA Championships in the indoor 60 meters and the outdoor 100 and 200 meters. Book-ending his time at Florida, the Japanese sprinter finished seventh in the 200 meters at the 2017 IAAF World Outdoor Championships as an 18-year old. He followed that by helping the Japanese 4x100 relay team finish third last month at the World Championships in Doha. Sani Brown has personal bests of 9.97 for the 100 meters, 20.08 for the 200 meters and 6.54 for the indoor 60 meters. More news |
