World Indoor Championships Could Be Affected By Growth Of Virus

By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor

World Athletics is monitoring the coronavirus in central China as the global indoor championships approach, March 13-15 in Nanjing.

Nanjing is roughly 330 miles from Wuhan, the epicenter of the latest flu-like epidemic that has the world on edge.

Three major sports competitions have already been cancelled or postponed.

A report in Canadian Running speculates that the World Indoor Championships could face the same fate if the outbreak is not contained soon.

As of Monday, 82 deaths had been confirmed as a result of the virus and 50 million people were under quarantine.
