Ryan Crouser Launches Personal-Best Shot Put In GeorgiaPublished by
Olympic Champion Achieves 75-2 (22.91m) Personal Best By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor That one centimeter difference between gold and silver last October at the World Athletics Championships in Doha? Ryan Crouser covered it Saturday at a small American Track League event at Life University in Marietta, Ga. Crouser threw 75 feet, 2 inches (22.91m) in the final round to improve his personal best by a single centimeter. That mark was the one achieved by Joe Kovacs in Doha, when Crouser and New Zealand's Tom Walsh both finished at 75-1.75 (22.90m). The mark also moves Crouser into a tie with Kovacs (2019) and Alessandro Andrei (1987) for No. 3 on the all-time world list. Crouser had fair throws on all six attempts, including four marks beyond 22 meters. He achieved a fifth-round effort of 74-7 (22.73m) before unleashing his world-leading performance to cap the competition. The event was streamed live via Instagram.
