Long-time New Jersey Sportswriter And Track Aficionado Passes Away At 94

Paul Schwartz, writing for NorthJersey.com, reported today on the passing of Hall of Fame sports writer and track and field record-keeper Ed Grant. 

Grant, whose journalism career spanned several newspapers in New Jersey and also 40 years of publishing his own newsletter, New Jersey Track, was inducted into the NSAF's inaugural High School Track and Field Hall of Fame Class of 2018. 

Grant attended every Penn Relays from 1946 to 2019, which was the last one before the COVID-19 pandemic caused the 2020 and 2021 events to be canceled. He also attended 72 consecutive Millrose Games in New York.

He was an institution not only at Penn but throughout the track and field landcape of New Jersey for generations of athletes. 

His funeral is May 17.
