DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA CITY MEET St. John's College Teams Cruise To City Titles By Huge Margin By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor St. John's College dominated the DCSAA Championships at Dunbar High in Washington, D.C., May 25-26, scoring a combined 429 points across boys and girls competition. The boys and girls teams both won 10 events. In the girls 100 meters final, Takiyah Henson (12.24), Naaemah Solomon (12.48) and Lailah King (12.67) went 1-2-3 for SJC. King and Solomon helped power the 4x100 relay to a win in 47.32 seconds. Henson and teammate Cymia Yourish finished together, 1-2 in the 200 meters, timed in 25.02 seconds. Yourish also won the 400 in 57.74. SJC's Meredith Gotzman doubled in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters. SJC's Carlos Moore won the shot put and discus. Josh Thompson swept the hurdles events. Thompson also won the long jump (22-6) and finished second to teammate Roman Mills (43-7) in the triple jump. Freshmen tandem William Strong and Sebi Hume went 1-2 for St. Albans in the 1,600 meters.
