Christian Brothers Academy Trims Holmdel Course Record, Again, In Record-Lowe 16 Point Performance At New Jersey Meet of Champs; Union Catholic Girls Win Third Straight Title By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Joe Barrett became the eighth repeat individual champion at the New Jersey Meet of Champions on Saturday, but what he's doing with his team is far more historic on the Holmdel Park course. For the second weekend in a row, CBA lowered the five-man team average, going 15:42.4 per runner. The No. 2-ranked Colts have lowered the course record by an astounding nine seconds this season. And CBA scored 16 points, for the lowest point total in meet history. Even more, CBA versus the entire field of New Jersey's top boys would yield a winning score of 20-36. Christian Brothers won its 27th MOC title, a total more than all other schools combined. Meanwhile, Union Catholic also enjoyed a banner day with its third straight MOC girls title, beating runner-up Princeton 80-101.
Sophomore Paige Sheppard led the Vikings with her first place finish in 18:02. A week earlier, Sheppard led UC to the Non-Public A Group title with a victory in 17:57.
