Malachi Williams, Brooklyn Lyttle Among Top Entries This Weekend In Landover By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Photo by John Nepolitan Nationally ranked sprinters and jumpers are among the entries for the 22nd annual Montgomery Indoor Invitational on Saturday at Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Md. The meet encompasses teams from Maryland and neighboring states of Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia and. D.C. WATCH THE MONTGOMERY INDOOR INVITATIONAL LIVE ON RUNNERSPACE (+PLUS required) One of the headliners is Malachi Williams from Largo MD, who ran a US#7 time of 33.96 in the 300 meters at the Virginia Beach Opener on Dec. 14. Wiliams is the reigning Maryland Class 2A champion in the 400 meters, where he ran 47.92 last spring. Sierra Swangin from James Hubert Blake MD (pictured) is US#10 in the girls high jump with a best of 5-6. She'll compete against Funmiola Ayoku from Springbrook MD, who has also cleared 5-6. Brooklyn Lyttle from Elizabeth Seton MD is US#5 in the long jump with a best of 19-9.75. Abigail Anstett from Georgetown Visitation DC is entered in the 3,200 meters and 1,600 metrs and ran a time of 10:32.57 on Dec. 7, which is US#1. Lauryn Robertson of Colgan MD is the top entry in the girls 55 meters at 6.96 seconds, and the 200 meters and 24.98, which she ran in the club section at the U.S. Marine Corps Holiday Classic in New York. Carson Edwards from the Field School of D.C. is the top entry in the boys 200 at 21.48 seconds and the 55 dash with US#5 6.36 seconds. Edwards owns an outdoor best of 21.48 seconds. Edwards will be tested by Colonial Forge VA's Matt Fisher, who has run 6.40 for US#11 and 21.49 in the 200 last spring. More news |
