High school athletes from around the Northwest region will take part in the Spokane High School Preview on Friday and Saturday to begin the 2025 indoor track and field season at The Podium Powered by STCU, which is entering its fifth season of competition.

Friday's racing features the boys and girls 4x800- and 4x200-meter relays, with Saturday contesting individual events.

Foot Locker Cross Country Championships finalist Kade Brownell of Mt. Spokane WA is set to face Nike Cross Nationals competitors Maximus Cervi-Skinner, Zack Cervi-Skinner and Wyatt Carr of Coeur d'Alene ID in the boys mile. Brownell's high school teammate, Parker Westerman, favors to be in the mix.

Oregon 6A 100 champion Aster Jones of Roosevelt is entered in both the girls 60 and 200. Washington state standout Journey Cole of Kent Meridian will contest both events, too.

Washington 3A 400 champion Eddie Bruner Jr. of Lincoln of Tacoma will make his second trip back to Spokane this indoor after opening up the season on Dec. 15 at the Spokane Speed Games. The junior is entered in the 400 and 200.

Julia Couch of Auburn Riverside WA, a Oregon State commit and three-time Washington 3A state champion, is atop the entry list in the girls 800.

Throwing standouts Marissa Johnson of Tigard OR and Kimberly Beard of King's WA renew their friendly rivalry in the girls shot put and weight throw contests. Johnson and Beard finished third and fourth, respectively, in the weight throw at last year's Nike Indoor Nationals.

Landry Allen of Hanford WA, Jacqueline Jones of Inglemoor WA and Mackenzie Hurtubise of Langley Secondary BC are some of the key names to watch for in a competitive girls pole vault competition.
