Wyoming State Meet Recap 2025

Natrona Country Girls, Sheridan Boys Win 4A Titles; Landon Walker Flies To State's First 50-Foot Triple Jump; Star Valley Runs Record 4x800; Adelyn Anderson Breaks Shot Put Record

The Natrona County girls dominated the Class 4A team competition and rolled up 139 points to claim the program’s first state title since 2016 over the weekend at the Wyoming High School State Track and Field High Championships at Kelly Walsh High.

Natrona’s 4x100 relay broke the all-time state record clocking 47.81 seconds. The Mustangs of Casper also added a win in the 4x400 (3:59.66) and finished second in the 4x800 and sprint medley relays. 

Landon Walker of Kelly Walsh and the Star Valley boys made re-wrote the all-time record book as well. 

Walker soared to US#8 50-8.75 to win the triple jump with a personal best by more than a foot. Walker picked up the long jump title as well (24-1.25). 

Star Valley's Jase Burton clocked 9:16.08, to break the meet record in the 3,200. The BYU commit also added a title in the 1,600 (4:15.52) and was second in the 800 running a personal-best time of 1:53.54.

Burton was part of Star Valley's 4x800 relay, which broke a 31-year-old all-time state record in the 4x800 relay (7:51.72). 

Natrona’s senior Brynn Sybrant claimed the girls shot put title (41-0.50) and finished second in the discus (137-9). 

Sophomore Peyton Hamrick of Kelly Walsh set a 4A meet record in the girls pole vault clearing 12-3. 

Cheyenne East sophomore Maggie Madsen won the 1,600 (5:01.74), 3,200 (11:03.75) and placed second in the 800 (2:14.68).

Natrona’s Kavin Hoff set the meet record in the pole vault, clearing 16-1. 

The Sheridan boys repeated as the 4A champs with 123 points and broke the all-time Wyoming best in the 4x400 running 3:18.63. 

Class 3A

The Lander Valley girls repeated as the 3A state champs, led by standout thrower Adelyn Anderson, who broke the overall state record in the shot put (49-7.75). The junior also won the discus in a 3A record throw of 154-9. 

On the track, Madison Antonino of Pinedale swept the distance events winning the 800 (2:21.68), 1,600 (5:06.86) and 3,200 (11:08.88). 

In boys 3A action, Lovell claimed the title with 117 points, winning the long jump, high jump and pole vault. 

Douglas’ Payson Hollingsworth set the 3A record in the long jump (23-4).

The Buffalo boys 4x800 relay set the 3A record clocking 8.02.00. 

Cody’s Kyler Stinsonset the 3A 400 record clocking 48.18.

Class 2A

After sweating out their first state title in 40 years last spring, the Kemmerer girls had no trouble repeating, putting up 123 to win the 2A state title. Senior Laynee Walker led the charge as she broke the 2A mark in the pole vault clearing 11-2, and also finished second in the 100 and 300 hurdles. 

On the track, Big Piney senior Micah Strong put on a show showing her range as she ran away with the 100 (12.87), 200 (27.38), 400 (57.84) and 800 (2:17.08) titles. 

In the distance events, Big Horn’s Lyla Marney set the 3,200 2A running 11:22.75. She also won the 1,600 (5:17.27). 

The Big Horn boys repeated as the 2A state champions putting up nearly 200 points, as they ended the meet with 197 points. The team set 2A records in the 4x100 (42.75) and the 4x400 (3:24.72).

Individually, Cole Rogers of Kemmerer shined as he won the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, setting 2A records in both events in the prelims — 14.52 and 37.48. Rogers also won the 100 (11.41) and 400 (49.17). 

Class 1A

The Lingle-Fort Laramie girls won the 4x400 relay (4:14.71) to scoer 95 points and dethrone defending champion Cokesville, who finished runner-up with 92.50 points. 

Cokeville's Addison Barnes,a junior, collected four gold medals during the meet as she won the 100 hurdles (16.14) and 300 hurdles (45.22), the 200 (26.80) and set a 1A record in the 400 running 58.23. 

The Burlington boys made it a three-peat scoring 119.50 points to claim the 1A title. 

Burlington went 1-2-3 in the pole vault led by senior Weston Godfredson, who set a new 1A record in the event, clearing 14-3.

Midwest senior Quincy Paris of Midwest set a 1A record in the triple jump (48-10) and won the long jump (22-3).
