Sioux Falls Lincoln Continues Domination Of Class AA Meet; Eighth Grader Brianna Reilly Cruises To Record 16:46 By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Sioux Falls Lincoln scored 39 points and continued to rule Class AA boys cross country in South Dakota on Saturday at Broadland Creek Golf Course in Huron, S.D. Mikah Peters of Brandon Valley won the individual title as expected and broke the 15-minute barrier with 14:54.1. Peters was the runner-up at the Roy Griak Invitational earlier this fall. Behind him, Lincoln duo Miles Lechtenberg and Tyrus Needles finished second and third. Lechtenberg ran 15:02.1 and Needles ran 15:15.2. Sioux Falls Lincoln is the No. 1-ranked team in the Heartland region. The top five all finished in the top 15 of Saturday's race and were spread apart by 76 seconds. Eighth grader Brianna Reilly, ranked No. 22 in the latest DyeStat individual girls rankings, won her second consecutive state title in 16:46 on Saturday and led Harrisburg to a team win with 61 points. Reilly won the Roy Griak title in September. Peyton Van Deest of Spearfish was second in 17:25 and Reilly's teammate, freshman Hannah Genrich, was third in 17:35. The Sioux Falls Christian girls put six in the top 12 of the Class A meet, although they only needed their top four to retain the state title. And those four were all in the top five on the way to a 13-point team performance. SFC is second in the Heartland region rankings and their theoretical head-to-head matchup against Harrisburg would have been a 25-30 win. Ellie Maddox led SFC with her win in 17:33 and two more of her teammates, Sadie Pettengill and Jerica Glasser also ran under 18 minutes. Faith Wiese of Flandreau broke up the SFC group with her second place in 17:42. The Sioux Falls Christian boys also won again, beating Hill City 37-47. In Class B, the Philip boys scored 12 points to repeat as team champions (top three score). Silas Holderman of Mitchell won the race in 16:17 but Philip duo Jack Peterson and Baylor Burns were second and third and Creston Burns was seventh. The Ipswich girls scored 18 points to win the team title. Ella Boekelheide of Northwestern won the race in 18:45. Seventh graders Isabella Galbraith and Jayla Stiles were fourth and fifth for Ipswich.
