After cracking the top 10 at the New Hampshire Meet of Champions in 2024, Exeter High’s Alexis Paterna didn’t just win, she dominated. On Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Hill House course in Hudson, the junior covered the 5,000-meter loop in a course record 17:05.13, ahead of runner-up Madeline Lane of Hopkinton (17:13.90). Exeter’s girls finished third as Hanover claimed the team title with just 40 points, followed by Oyster River (100). Exeter scored 101 points. On the boys side, after finishing runner-up last year, Pinkerton Academy didn’t let history repeat. The Astros tallied 49 points to win the team championship, ahead of Hanover (105) and Coe‑Brown Northwood Academy (129). Individually, senior Sullivan Sturtz of Keen High claimed the title in 15:18.25, holding off Peyton Joslyn (15:19.61) of Monadnock Regional. Sturtz finished second behind Bishop Guertin's Ethan Fischer at the D1 final a week prior. The top 25 individuals and the top six teams from the state meet now advance to the New England Cross Country Championships on Nov. 8 at Thetford Academy in Vermont.
