Inaugural Southeast Meet of Champions Set to Deliver Inclusive Competition and Elite Showcase Racing in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, FL (April 2026) — A dynamic new event is poised to transform the Southeast track & field calendar as the inaugural Southeast Meet of Champions (SEMOC) — presented by New Balance — comes to the University of North Florida on May 22–23, 2026.

Hosted by Trials of Miles Racing in partnership with Run for the Culture and Tallahassee Zoom Track Club, and sanctioned by USATF, the meet welcomes athletes from Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Louisiana, Alabama, and beyond for what organizers are calling the Southeast’s Fastest Weekend.

A Meet Built for Everyone

Unlike traditional invitationals or championship meets with strict qualifying standards, the Southeast Meet of Champions is open to all athletes ages 6–18. Divisions include U8 and U10 youth, middle school (grades 6–8), and high school (grades 9–12).

From first-time runners to nationally ranked standouts, every athlete will compete on the same elite stage in a high-energy, professionally produced environment.

“This meet is about access and opportunity,” said event organizers. “We want the 6-minute miler and the 4-minute miler — the beginner and the phenom — sharing the same track, in the same atmosphere.”

New Balance Showcase Sections Spotlight the Region’s Best

While the meet remains fully inclusive, the high school program features special New Balance Showcase Sections in select events. These sections will highlight the top 24–32 athletes from across the Southeast in highly competitive races, delivering national-level performances in a regional setting.

The schedule includes sprint, distance, relay, and field events across all divisions, with night sessions under the lights and a featured State vs. State 4x400 relay showdown (Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, DMV, and more).

Top six finishers in every event will receive custom Southeast Meet of Champions medals, giving every division a true championship atmosphere.

More Than Just Racing

Beyond the competition, SEMOC offers a complete experience: high-energy music and live production, a chance to extend the season after state championships, and an opportunity for athletes of all levels to compete, watch, and be inspired together.
