The next wave of Canadian indoor champions will be crowned in Canada’s biggest city, as the 2025 Canadian Indoor Track & Field Championships will now take place in Toronto.
The Toronto Track & Field Centre on the campus of York University will host the annual competition for indoor event supremacy, March 21-23.
Originally slated to take place at Complexe Sportif Claude-Robillard in Montreal, ongoing renovations on that site precipitated the change of venue. With Toronto already tapped to host the event in both 2026 and 2027, Athletics Canada worked with Athletics Ontario’s local organizing committee to relocate the 2025 event, as well.
“Athletics Ontario has stepped in to host the Canadian Indoor Track & Field Championships. We know they will produce a first-class national championships experience for the athletes competing, the coaches leading them, the officials running the show, and the friends, family and fans who will cheer them all on,” said Athletics Canada CEO Mathieu Gentès.
“Hosting 2025 sets the stage for greater community involvement that can be expanded upon in 2026 and 2027, enhancing local support and long-term impact. We also get the opportunity to fine-tune event logistics, staffing, and operational procedures to ensure an even smoother experience for 2026 and 2027,” said Athletics Ontario CEO Paul Osland. “Success in 2025 will boost the profile of the host city and facilities, potentially attracting greater attention, sponsorships, and attendance for the 2026 and 2027 championships.”
Toronto 2025
With less than six months until the event, the dedicated group of volunteers have plenty of do to deliver a first-class Indoor Championships for the athletes, coaches, officials and fans who will descend on Toronto for the event.
“We’re working with Athletics Canada to enhance the atmosphere for fans with engaging entertainment, interactive zones, and food and beverage options that elevate the overall event experience,” Osland said. “We want to create interactive zones for the event, to promote track and field - especially with the outdoor season around the corner.”
