Miami Runners Head to Nationals

Only a week after each led his team to a state cross-country championship, Belen's Elliot Clemente and Columbus' Armando Del Valle each had stellar performances at two prestigious postseason races.

At the Foot Locker South Regionals in Charlotte, N.C., Clemente ran a time of 15:03 to place fifth and qualify for the Foot Locker National Championships on Dec. 11 in San Diego. Clemente was the only Miami-Dade runner to qualify in the event. Clemente was the Class 3A state runner-up this season, leading the Wolverines to their fourth state title in five seasons.
