Emanuel Hernandez, a senior at North Canyon High, won the Division 2 boys discus throw crown with a mark of 165-9 (50.52m) at the Arizona Interscholastic Association state championship meet at Deer Valley High. Hernandez, who captured the Division 2 shot put title last season, elevated from a third-place performance in the discus to secure his first championship in the event.
