Chinecherem Prosper Nnamdi, a junior at Baylor representing Nigeria, won the men's javelin throw competition at the NCAA Division 1 West Regional with a third-round row performance of 270-9 (82.54m) at John McDonnell Field at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Nnamdi, who took over the Division 1 lead entering the NCAA final June 5 at Hayward Field in Oregon and elevated to the No. 11 all-time collegiate performer, also achieved a second-round effort of 270-6 (82.46m). His national record is 271-8 (82.80m) from March 22 in Ghana.
