Veronica Fraley, a graduate student-athlete at Vanderbilt, won the women's shot put title with a sixth-round effort of 60-0.25 (18.29m) and placed second in the discus throw final with a fourth-round performance of 202-2 (61.62m) at the Southeastern Conference Championships at James G. Pressly Stadium in Gainesville, Fla. Fraley became the first Vanderbilt female athlete to secure the conference shot put crown after also becoming the first women's competitor for the Commodores to capture the discus championship last season.
