Northern Arizona sophomore Abdihamid Nur won the men's 8-kilometer race and the individual title Saturday in 23:55.6 at the Big Sky Conference Cross Country Championships at Schneiter's Riverside Golf Course in Ogden, Utah. Nur became the fifth straight Northern Arizona athlete to win the individual crown, following Drew Bosley, Matt Baxter, Tyler Day and Futsum Zienasellassie. But the Lumberjacks, who competed without Luis Grijalva, Nico Young and Blaise Ferro, were upstaged by Southern Utah by a 35-38 margin, with the Thunderbirds capturing their first title since 2015 and snapping Northern Arizona's four-year regin as champion.
