Gabby Cortez 1st Place Girls 400m and 2nd Place 800m Sprint Medley Relay - Drake Relays presented by Xtream 2022

Gabby Cortez, a senior at Cedar Rapids Prairie High in Iowa, won the girls 400 meters in 56.15 seconds and anchored a second-place finish in the 800-meter sprint medley relay in 1:47.79 at the 112th Drake Relays Presented by Xtream and Powered by Mediacom and Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield at the Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Cortez anchored the sprint medley relay with a 55.68 split and added a 55.48 anchor leg in the 4x400-meter relay prelims to help Cedar Rapids Prairie qualify for the finals in 4:01.23.
