Morgan Reiner, a junior at Milton Area High in Pennsylvania, won the girls emerging elite javelin throw with a personal-best effort of 138-7 (42.26m) in the sixth round at the Nike Outdoor Nationals at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Reiner improved by more than nine feet from her sixth-place performance of 129 feet (39.31m) at the Class AA state final May 27 at Shippensburg University. It marked the No. 2 performance in the history of the emerging elite girls javelin, which was added to the meet schedule in 2010, in addition to being the first athlete from Pennsylvania to win the emerging elite event since 2016.
