Faith Kipyegon, representing Kenya and Nike, ran the world record in the women's mile by clocking 4:07.64 at the Herculis EBS, the annual Monaco Diamond League Meeting at the Louis II Stadium in Fontvieille. Kipyegon eclipsed the 2019 record of 4:12.33 achieved by Dutch athlete Sifan Hassan at the same event and venue. She also improved her own mile personal best from 4:16.71 in 2015 in Belgium.
