Northwestern head women's cross country coach Jill Miller joins DyeStat's Keenan Gray on the newest episode of DyeStat Discussions to talk about the Wildcats' historic fall season, leading up to the Big Ten Cross Country Championships.

Now in her seventh year in Evanston, Ill., Miller has taken Northwestern to greater heights. In 2022, Northwestern qualified for its first NCAA Cross Country Championships in 20 years, and this season, the program has earned its highest national ranking ever in the latest USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll at No. 8.

In this episode, Miller reflects on her coaching journey, which had stops at Brown (2008-2011), William & Mary (2011-2014), Wisconsin (2014-2019) and now Northwestern (2019-pres), the challenges of building up a program into one that competes at the national championships and how her philosophy as a coach focuses on individuals' strength and collective growth while also maintaining a fun and engaging training environment.

Northwestern will look to match, or improve, its highest finish at the Big Ten Cross Country Championships in almost 40 years, which was second at the 1986 meet, this Friday Oct. 31, in East Lansing, Mich.
