Following two days of all-time high school, college and North American professional performances at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, Grant Fisher and his Nike Bowerman Track Club teammates certainly saved the best highlights for last Saturday night at Boston University.

Fisher joined Canadian star Moh Ahmed and British standout Marc Scott in becoming the first trio in history to all run under 13 minutes in the same race, each athlete producing a record-setting performance in the 5,000 meters.

Fisher became the fastest competitor in North American history, Ahmed lowered his own Canadian all-time mark and Scott achieved another European record, leading 11 athletes to sub-13:10 efforts among the top two sections.

Fisher ran 12:53.73 to eclipse the 2014 standard of 13:01.26  held by fellow American Galen Rupp. elevating to the No. 4 all-time global indoor competitor.

Ahmed improved to No. 7 in history at 12:56.87, with Scott ascending to No. 8 at 12:57.08.

Emmanuel Bor, who entered the race as the No. 2 all-time American indoor performer, ran the fastest fourth-place time in any indoor 5,000 race at 13:00.48 to also break into the top 10 in world history.

Sam Atkin, another British athlete, climbed to No. 13 all-time at 13:03.64 and ranks second on the European list behind Scott.

Jonas Raess, representing New Balance and Switzerland, secured sixth in 13:07.95, with first-year Nike professional Conner Mantz placing seventh in 13:10.24.

Woody Kincaid, another Bowerman athlete, won the second section in 13:05.56 to become the No. 4 indoor performer in American history.

Lopez Lomong, who ran 13:07 flat in 2013, challenged that mark by running 13:07.40 to finish second, followed by Kieran Tuntivate of Thailand taking third in 13:08.41 and Sean McGorty finishing fourth in 13:09.21 to just miss breaking into the top 10 all-time American indoor competitors.

Florida State’s Adriaan Wildschutt was fifth in 13:09.30, ascending to the No. 2 performer in collegiate indoor history, trailing only the 2012 mark of 13:08.28 by Arizona’s Lawi Lalang.

Evan Jager (13:13.23) secured sixth as another Bowerman competitor ran sub-13:15, with Notre Dame’s Dylan Jacobs earning seventh in 13:14.04, ascending to the No. 4 all-time collegiate indoor performer.

Zouhair Talbi of Oklahoma City, representing Morocco, lowered his own NAIA all-time mark to 13:18.17 to place 11th in the top section and 20th overall.
