It's officially IAAF World Relays week, as many of the world's best sprint and middle distance talent assemble in the Bahamas, squaring off for early season international bragging rights.

While the fields clearly sell themselves, with an incredible amount of Olympic medalists set to compete, the prize purse the IAAF is offering brings in additional interest. The IAAF is set to dole out $1.26 million in prize money, with first place squads receiving $50,000 to split amongst the four runners.

Additionally, teams that take down world records will earn an additional $50,000.

Team Prize Money (per event)

1st – $50,000
2nd – $30,000
3rd – $20,000
4th – $12,000
5th – $10,000
6th – $8000
7th – $6000
8th – $$4000

Guiding Team USA this year are Olympic medalists Tianna Bartoletta, English Gardner, Justin Gatlin, Natasha Hastings, LaShawn Merritt and Clayton Murphy. The U.S. squad runs strong from top to bottom in each event, giving them plenty of upside heading into the event this coming weekend.
