Now Retired from Track and Field, Usain Bolt Will Bring a Part of Jamaica to London

By Adam Kopet

Usain Bolt is reportedly involved in a deal that will bring 15 Track & Records to London according to Katie Pathiaki in the Caterer.

Bolt retired at the end of the IAAF World Outdoor Championships. His final race, the 4x100-meter relay final, saw him pull up with a torn hamstring. Earlier in the championships, Bolt secured the bronze medal in the 100-meter dash.

Track & Records is a Jamaican fast food restaurant in which Bolt is an equity partner. He has contributed time and input into branding when he was not training on the track.

The restaurant specializes in jerk pork among other authentic Jamaican cuisine. There is also a Bolt inspired portion of the menu.

A deal has been struck to bring 15 franchises of Track & Records to London. The first Track & Records opened in Kingston, Jamaica, in 2011 and the first franchise was granted last year.

Bolt will not have a stake in the London franchises. They will be operated by SME Group, which operates over 120 restaurants and hotels in the U.K.
