Chris Miltenberg Named Director of Track and Field and Cross Country at North CarolinaPublished by
Chris Miltenberg Leaves Stanford for North CarolinaBy Adam Kopet Chris Miltenberg has been announced as the new director of track and field and cross country at the University of North Carolina. Miltenberg will head the UNC program after spending the past seven years at Stanford where he held the same role. At Stanford, his teams earned eight podium finishes at NCAA Championships. Prior to Stanford, Miltenberg spent five years as the head women's cross country coach and associate head coach for track and field at Georgetown, his alma mater. There his women's cross country team won the 2011 NCAA Division 1 Cross Country Championships. Miltenberg began his coaching career in 2004 where he served as an assistant and then associate cross country and track and field coach at Columbia. He spent three years in New York, before returning to Georgetown. As an athlete, Miltenberg earned two All-America and three Academic All-America honors at Georgetown. He finished fourth in the 3,000 meters and distance medley relay at the 2001 NCAA Division 1 Indoor Championships. More news |
