But the UCLA junior had the best possible dress rehearsal Thursday at the Don Kirby Elite Indoor Invitational at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Wilson not only eclipsed the Bruins’ program record in the 20-pound weight throw, but she also took over the collegiate lead with a sixth-round effort of 75 feet, 4.75 inches (22.98m).

Wilson first achieved a personal best in the third round with a throw of 73-4.50 (22.36m), before fouling the next two attempts.

Her final throw not only surpassed the 2015 program record of 74-0.25 (22.56m) held by Ida Storm, but also helped Wilson elevate to the No. 12 performer in collegiate indoor history.

Wilson is also scheduled to compete Friday in the shot put and Saturday in the weight throw at the U.S. nationals.

Oregon senior Rhesa Foster overcame fouls on her first two attempts in the long jump to produce the two best marks of her career in the fourth and fifth rounds to improve to No. 2 in program history.

Foster jumped 21-6.75 (6.57m) in the fourth round to elevate to No. 2 among collegiate indoor performers this season, trailing only Deborah Acquah of Texas A&M at 21-7.25 (6.58m).

Foster also equaled the No. 41 all-time collegiate indoor performer, giving the Ducks three of the top 50 athletes, along with Jenna Prandini at 21-10 (6.65m) and Jamesha Youngblood at 21-6.25 (6.56m).

Oregon freshman Alysah Hickey jumped 20-4.25 (6.20m) in the fifth round to place second and equal the No. 18 collegiate performer in the country this season.

Oregon junior Kasin Pendergrass Anderson won the men’s long jump with a second-round effort of 24-7.25 (7.50m), with UTEP junior Karol Koncos prevailing in the men’s weight throw with a fourth-round mark of 67-5.50 (20.56m).

Long Beach State senior Jason Smith and Oregon senior Ben Milligan both cleared 7-3.25 (2.22m) in the high jump. Smith secured the victory based on clearing the bar on his first attempt.

Swedish standout Erika Kinsey, a Puma professional, cleared 6-1.25 (1.86m) to win the women’s high jump.

Washington junior Makenna Barton prevailed in the women’s unseeded pole vault by clearing 13-5.75 (4.11m) and Grant Sisserson of Risen Performance won the men’s unseeded pole vault with a 16-11.50 (5.17m) clearance.
