Shawnti Jackson Blazes US#1s In 100 (11.48) and 200 (23.06)

Sophomore sprinting sensation Shawnti Jackson from Cardinal Gibbons finally got a chance to show what she can do at a North Carolina state track and field championships. 

Running at Greenboro on the North Carolina A&T track, Jackson ran scorching times to win the girls 100 meters (11:48) and 200 meters (23.06), personal bests in both events and the fastest wind-legal performances in the country. She also anchored the winning 4x100 relay (47.33)

The Olympic girls, who won the 4x400 (3:48.66) and went 2-3-4 for 19 points in the 400 meters final, won the 4A team title with 69 points. 

Akala Garrett from Harding University was sensational in the hurdles, winning the 300 hurdles in 41.64 and the 100-meter hurdles in 13.90.

Sanu Jallow from West Mecklenberg won the girls 800 in 2:07.78.

Millbrook won the boys championship with 53 points, with Dillon Leacock running US#4 36.53 to win the 300-meter hurdles and Caleb Stephens winning the triple jump with 48-8.75. 

JaDarien Parker from Hoke County ran 21.00 to win the 200 meters after taking second in the 100. 

Justin Hayes of Panther Creek won the boys 1,600 in 4:11.92 and Maddon Muhammad from Myers Park took the 800 in 1:52.95.
