TOURNAMENT BRACKETS

WEST REGIONAL

Grandview CO 69, Chandler AZ 67

The Arizona and Colorado champions went right down the wire in a dual where the outcome of every event impacted the final result. Grandview's pole vaulting crew -- Rylen Lippelt, Jackson Blake and Mateo Munoz -- gave the team a much needed lift with a 1-2-3 sweep. That offset a Chandler sweep in the long jump by Travis Roberts, Sammie Hunter and Jamere Haskell. On the track, Grandview gained an advantage with Malique Singleton and Sonny Thompkins outscoring Chandler's Khaymin Westbrook 14-4 in the two hurdles events. Tyson Tippett (100 and 200) and Danny Jenkins (400) won the sprint events for Chandler, but Grandview won a close 4x100, 41.48 to 41.63. Chandler claimed the 4x400. By moving into the final four, Grandview will go farther into the tournament than any Colorado team since it began in 2016.

Century ND 135.5, Humble Summer Creek TX 100.5

In one of the closest dual meets in tournament history, this matchup of Texas champion versus North Dakota champion resulted in a 68-68 tie. In order to break it, the meet was re-scored five deep rather than three, and Century's overall depth carried the day. The separation occurred in the distance events, where Ethan Bender led 1-5 sweeps of both the 1,600 and 3,200. That was a 32-0 swing for the Patriots, while the rest of the meet remained close. Humble Summer Creek got both the 4x100 and 4x400 (scored at six points apiece). Century's depth in the shot put -- five guys over 51 feet -- and discus -- the team had seven throwers over 140 feet -- more than countered the sensational throwing of Summer Creek's Kevin Grubbs, who won the events with 60-11.50 and 207-1. Century's Brock Johnsen and Clay Radenz provided critical points in the hurdles events.

EAST REGIONAL

Carrollton GA 80, Cuthbertson NC 61

The Georgia 6A champions outscored Cuthbertson 42-12 in the field events to break open a competitive dual meet against the North Carolina 3A champs. Amare Hall (long and triple jumps), Grant Brisco (pole vault), Mike Higgins (high jump) and Montavious Holts (shot put and discus) were all winners in the regional semifinals. Brandon Moore won both hurdles races for Cuthbertson, which also won the 4x100 and 4x400. Cutherberton's University of Michigan-bound sprinter, Jacob Koerner, won the 100 and 200 and was part of both relay wins. Alabama recruit Collin Jones of Carrollton was a key part of his team's win by taking the first-place points in the 1,600 and 3,200.

Carmel IN 70, Dillard FL 62

The Greyhounds of Carmel spotted Dillard a bunch of points in the sprints only to close the gap with their distance crew and then locked down the victory with wins in the discus (Nolan Ring), high jump (Aydrian Caldwell) and pole vault (Seth Hutchison). The Indiana champions will advance to the final four for the first time. The score through all individual track events was 36-36 and Dillard won the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. Carmel took the 4x800. Kole Mathison led sweeps of both the 1,600 and 3,200 for the Greyhounds and was part of the relay win as well. Devaughn Mortimer (100), Chris Johnson (200) and Renaud Jean (800) all won events on the track for the Florida 3A state champions.
