Emmanuella Njenje Smashes Oklahoma Girls 400 Record At State Meet

Emmanuella Njenje starred at the Oklahoma state track and field championships with a big effort in the 6A 400 meters final that brought with it a new all-time state best 54.07 seconds. 

Njenje also won the 200 meters in 23.83 and in the prelims she went 23.58 in a wind-aided race. She also helped Edmond Santa Fe break the all-time state records in the 4x200 (US#17 1:37.43) and 4x100 (US#33 46.43 prelim, 46.44 final) that had been on the books since the 1980s. 

Competing in separate classes, Deyanna Douglass of 6A Midwest City and Tyley Dotson of 5A Ada won their respective shot put competitions with historic marks. Dotson tied the all-time Oklahoma with 46-4.50 to win the 5A contest and Douglass broke the all-time Oklahoma record with her 46-9. 

Braylon Thompson of Union led his team to the 6A state title with his 100 (10.61)/200 (21.27) double. 

Heston Thompson of Stillwater won the 6A boys 400 meters in 47.13 seconds 

Bella Nelson of Owasso shined in the 6A girls meet, winning the 800 meters in 2:09.97 and the 1,600 in 4:57.86.

Coweta won the boys 5A team title with Max Clark delivering a win in the 800 meters (1:53.44) and a third-place finish in the 400 (49.67). Brendan Badie added a win in the 300-meter hurdles (37.80). 

Andrew Hughes of Ada jumped a state-leading 6-10 to win the high jump.

Tulsa's Bishop Kelley dominated the girls 5A competition. Gwyn Meyers won the 1,600 and 3,200. Malana Eureste won the 800 and was runner-up in the 400. Both of them are sophomores. Bishop Kelley also won the 4x400 and 4x800 relays. 

Madisyn Crandall of Cache, one of the top female athletes in the state, led her team the 4A girls crown. She won the 300-meter hurdles in 45.92 and the long jump with 19-5.50. She was also part of the winning 4x200 and second-place 4x100 relay. Her twin sister Mercedes was on both relay and also took second in the pole vault. 

Elijah Green of Classen SAS edged out Lincoln Christian's Jackson Strode in a competitive 4A boys 400 meters final, 48.72 seconds to 48.94. 

Evan Keefe of Hilldale won the 4A discus with 174-8 and was second in the shot put with 54-8. 

Andy Bass led Heritage Hall to the 3A boys title. He won the 100 meters in 10.56 and the 200 in 21.74 in wind-aided finals. He also was part of the winning 4x100 relay and second-place 4x200. 

Victory Christian won the 3A girls crown with Kallista Frye making trips to the top of the podium for winning the 100 meters (12.12w) and the 200 (24.84w). She also helped Victory win the 4x100 and 4x200 relays. 

Kileigh Mixon led the Stroud girls to the 2A team title with her wins in the 100-meter hurdles (15.15) and the high jump (5-4). She also was second in the long jump (18-0) and was on the winning 4x100 relay team. 

Hooker freshman Keilan Robinson won the 2A 200 final in 22.24 seconds. He was also on three winning relay teams as the Bulldogs won the team title. 

Zane Zamarski of Southwest Covenant doubled up in the 2A throws, winning the discus with 165-8 and the shot put with 53-5.25. 

Jagger Worley of Carnegie ran 1:54.90 to win the 2A boys 800 final. 

The Ringling Public boys built their repeat 1A title on relays, winning the 4x100 and 4x200. Kaden Barron and Caleb Taylor went 1-3 in the 110-meter hurdles; William Davis and Kysen Fincher finished 2-3 in the pole vault.

Shaylin Petty helped Seiling to another 1A girls title, winning the 400 meters in 58.95 seconds and taking second in the 800 (2:20.50. She also anchored winning 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams. 

May Pachner of Shattuck jumped 11-7 to win the 1A pole vault title.

Class 4A - Lincoln Christian boys 111 points, Cache girls 94.5 points - RESULTS

Class 2A - Hooker boys 117 points, Stroud girls 91 points - RESULTS

Class 1A - Ringling Public boys 80 points, Seiling girls 96 points - RESULTS
