Reniewicki represents Under Armour Mission Run Baltimore Distance by clocking 4:00.86, leading seven sub-4:10 athletes By Erik Boal, DyeStat John Reniewicki did his best to push the pace early and battle strong winds throughout the men’s pro mile race Saturday night at the Under Armour Sunset Tour event in Baltimore. Reniewicki, a former Arizona State standout representing Under Armour Mission Run Baltimore Distance, prevailed in 4 minutes, 0.86 seconds, closing with a 59.76-second split to secure the victory at the Under Armour Global Headquarters in Baltimore. Dan Schaffer of On ZAP Endurance placed second in 4:03.48, with Australian athlete Jesse Hunt clocking 4:06.19 to take third. Alec Basten, who ran 8:26.14 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase July 22 at the Under Armour Sunset Tour event at Occidental College in Los Angeles, finished fourth in the mile in 4:06.51. Jack Salisbury, a former Georgetown competitor, was fifth in 4:07.28, Owen Hoeft of Minnesota Distance Elite secured sixth in 4:07.66 and Under Armour athlete Casey Comber placed seventh in 4:09.49. Elliot Gindi of Garden State Track Club prevailed in the mixed community mile in 4:19.15, with former Cincinnati standout and British athlete Ellie Leather producing the fastest women’s performance at 4:53.03.
