Defending champion Jesuit of New Orleans got everything it could handle from crosstown rival Brother Martin on Monday at the Louisiana state cross country championships in Northwestern State University in Natchitoches.

It was to be expected. Jesuit and Brother Martin have been going head to head all season. And they are both entered in Saturday's NXR South meet in Texas where they will compete on five days' rest.

The St. Joseph's Academy girls beat second-place Mt. Carmel 51-63 to win the team championship.

Camryn Haik led St. Thomas More to the Division 2 team championship with her individual win in 18:38.9. She edged out Angelle Dupuis of Teurlings Catholic by a tenth of a second.

Holy Cross trio Gage Baldassaro, Cameron Loubat and Landon Davis went 4-5-7 to help the team win the team title.

Jackson Jarrett of David Thibodaux won the race in 15:49.2.

The Episcopal BR girls went 2-3-4-6 on the way to 33 points and a victory in the Division 3 final. Senior Ava Hartman of Newman won the race in 17:58.0, which was the fastest time across all divisions.
