Jesuit Boys Slip Past Brother Martin 27-32 For Division 1 Team Title By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Defending champion Jesuit of New Orleans got everything it could handle from crosstown rival Brother Martin on Monday at the Louisiana state cross country championships in Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. It was to be expected. Jesuit and Brother Martin have been going head to head all season. And they are both entered in Saturday's NXR South meet in Texas where they will compete on five days' rest. Brady Mullen of Jesuit won the Division 1 3-mile race in 14:50.6 and teammate Brady Monahan was second in 15:01.7. Jesuit edged Brother Martin 27-32 as the two schools combined for 10 of the top 11 spots. Catalina Reichard of Mt. Carmel, the top female runner in the state, won the Division 1 girls race in 17:28.7. The St. Joseph's Academy girls beat second-place Mt. Carmel 51-63 to win the team championship. Camryn Haik led St. Thomas More to the Division 2 team championship with her individual win in 18:38.9. She edged out Angelle Dupuis of Teurlings Catholic by a tenth of a second. Holy Cross trio Gage Baldassaro, Cameron Loubat and Landon Davis went 4-5-7 to help the team win the team title. Jackson Jarrett of David Thibodaux won the race in 15:49.2. The Episcopal BR girls went 2-3-4-6 on the way to 33 points and a victory in the Division 3 final. Senior Ava Hartman of Newman won the race in 17:58.0, which was the fastest time across all divisions. Aiden Monistere won the boys D3 race in 15:25.2 and led the Parkview Baptist boys to a dominant score of 28 points to win the team title. Sara Godley of Ascension Episcopal won the Division 4 girls race in 18:34.9. Acadiana Renaissance won the girls team title, with five scorers in the top 23. Freshman Talan Sievers of Lafayette Christian Academy won the Division 5 boys final in 15:40.5. Metairie Park County scored 67 points for the team victory. Noah Watson and Myrina Brown of Christ Episcopal went 1-2 in the girls race but the team finished second to Highland Baptist Christian, 41-44.
