Wilson ran 1:17.19, which is faster than the No. 2 all-time 1:17.36 that he ran last year and behind the national record of 1:15.58 by Will Sumner in 2022. That race comes a day after he ran 2:01 on the anchor leg of a sprint medley relay at the Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival on Staten Island. Wilson's teammate, Colin Abrams, was second in the 600 on Saturday in 1:19.10. Another Bullis standout, Morgan Rothwell, got some hard work in with winning efforts in the 500 (US#1 1:12.82) and 600 meters (US#2 1:31.83). Lisa Raye, a junior at West Warwick RI, won a competitive 55-meter dash final against Bullis' Payton Payne, 6.83 to 6.89 seconds. Payne also ran the fastest time in the 200 meters with US#3 23.94, just ahead of Bullis teammate Kennedy Brown in US#4 23.96. Bullis left to travel back to Maryland before the finals. Laura Fiegel of Heritage Christian School VA was competitive in both races, going US#4 6.95 in the 55 dash and US#5 24.02 to win the final of the 200. Bullis freshman Chrishelle Campbell won the 400 meters in a US#4 time of 55.77 seconds. In one of the best races of the day, Brady Danyluk from Newburgh Free NY edged out Michael Huebner from Shoreham Wading River, 1:53.31 to 1:53.39, as the pair ran US#1 and US#2 in the boys 800. St. Joseph's by the Sea NY ran the first sub-8 time of the season in the boys 4x800 relay, clocking in with a US#1 7:56.54. Elmont Memorial ran a US#2 time of 3:22.65 to win the boys 4x400 relay. Taylor Cox of Union Catholic NJ matched her season best in the 55-meter hurdles with 7.76 seconds, which broke the meet record. Mianna Mason from South County VA (7.79) and Cassidy Hopkins of Bullis (7.85) ran the second- and third-fastest times in the country behind her. Bronxville NY senior Wyatt Gravier won the boys 55-meter hurdles in US#3 7.31 seconds. Brooklyn Lyttle from Elizbeth Seton MD won the girls long jump with 19-6.50. Mason was second in that even as well, with a personal best 19-3.75. Meagan Ewers from Medgar Evers NY won the girls weight throw with a US#3 toss of 51-5.50. Shamrock Thoun from Woonsocket RI launched a huge throw of 79-4.75 to match No. 18 on the all-time list and establish an early season US#1. More news |
