Top high school and middle school track athletes head to Seattle seeking fast times and big PRs

SEATTLE - The nation’s best distance runners, sprinters, and hurdlers are set to compete at the 2025 Brooks PR Invitational on Sunday, June 8 at Renton Memorial Stadium in Renton, Washington.

The annual “Fastest of the Fastest” event will once again be the epicenter for earning PRs and challenging national records, showcasing the nation’s top high school and middle school track athletes. The multi-day athlete experience brings stars of the sport together in downtown Seattle, taking in the city’s sights, spending time at Brooks HQ, and building lifelong friendships.

With meet records, national records, and of course PRs in sight, Brooks is proud to announce the first round of accepted entries to this year’s event, with each athlete also being part of the inaugural Brooks high school NIL class.

Middle distance aces Clemmie Lilley (NJ), Vincent Recupero (WA), and Alexa Matora (WA) are set to shine, while the long distance contingent is comprised of Juan Gonzalez (NE), Victoria Rodriguez (WA), Joe Barrett (NJ), and Ben Crane (IL). Brooks PR Invitational veteran and 400m standout Sidi Njie (GA) headlines the sprint group

At the 2024 Brooks PR Invitational, four event records were set, while three JR PR records were broken. An incredible 73% of athletes competing in the event earned a new PR, including all eight girls competing in the 100m hurdles and all eight boys competing in the 110m hurdles. All but one athlete in the boys and girls two miles and boys 100m and 400m dash events also earned PRs.

Highlighting the top performances of 2024, Allie Zealand (VA) set a national outdoor record in the two mile with her 9:41.76 win, while Jane Hedengren (UT) earned a top ten all-time mark with her runner-up effort. In the boys two mile, Drew Griffith (PA) ran the second fastest time in history with his 8:31.46 victory. Cooper Lutkenhaus (TX) ran the eighth fastest time in history with his 1:47.58 win, nearly breaking Donavan Brazier’s 1:47.55 meet record set in 2015.

The Brooks PR Invitational will welcome fans on June 8 by offering limited release PR Invitational gear, fun-filled giveaways, easy access to the sport’s current and future stars, and of course free entry.

For those who can’t make the trip to Seattle, RunnerSpace will once again provide a free broadcast of the Brooks PR Invitational, while live results will be available on AthleticLIVE. Additional meet details, athlete announcements, and more will be released in coming weeks.
