First Day Of Multis Competition Complete As 65th Mt. SAC Relays Get Underway

Multis competition wrapped up day one at the 65th Mt. SAC Relays with Hakim McMorris and Beatrice Juskeviciute as the early leaders to begin the busy weekend at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Calif.

Former California standout Hakim McMorris, representing VS Athletics, scored 4,351 points to sit atop the elite standings in the men's decathlon, holding a 16-point edge over Austin West. McMorris won two events on the first day in the long jump (7.55 meters/24-9.25) and in the 400 meter (46.92).

West, former Iowa Hawkeye who finished fifth in last year's decathlon, finished second in the high jump (2.01m/6-7) and the 400 (47.13) to go with his total of 4,335 points.

Bahamian Kendrick Thompson, fourth at the 2023 meet, sits in third with 4,197 points.

Duke's Maxwell Forte is the top collegian with 4,192 points, sitting in fourth overall. Miami's (Fla.) Edgar Campre, third in the Heptathlon at the NCAA Indoor Championships, is fifth with 4,103 points, including two wins in the 100 (10.56) and shot put (15.32m/50-3.75).

Lithuanian Juskeviciute, 2023 NCAA runner-up in the heptathlon for Vanderbilt, holds an 81-point advantage over the women's elite field with 3,710 points, with wins in the 100 meter hurdles (13.32) and 200 (23.96). Juskeviciute finished second in the heptathlon in last year's meet.

American Erin Marsh, another athlete with VS Athletics, sits in second with 3,629 points. She finished second in the 100 hurdles (13.34) and high jump (1.69m/5-6.50).

Oklahoma's Pippi Lotta Enok, third in the pentathlon at NCAA indoors, and Allie Jones, a former USC athlete, both stand third overall with 3,589 points. Enok won the high jump at 1.75m (5-8.75).

Jenelle Rogers, seventh in the pentathlon at NCAA indoors for Ball State, rounds out the top five with 3,504 points. Rogers, competing unattached, won the shot put with a throw of 14.99m (49-2.25).
