For the second straight season, California had the most qualifiers advance to the National Championship race at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego with six individuals at the Foot Locker West Regionals at Mt. SAC in Walnut, Calif. Sage Creek senior Skyler Wallace, the state Division 4 individual runner-up, finished second (17:06.3), Granada Hills sophomore Sofia Abrego placed fifth (17:08.4), Capistrano Valley senior Carly Corsinita was seventh (17:10.2), Mira Costa sophomore Dalia Frias came in eighth (17:10.7) and Sacramento St. Francis sophomore Cate Joaquin secured the final qualifying spot in 10th (17:14.8).
