Reigning World Mountain Running Championships gold medalist and Saucony professional Grayson Murphy discusses with DyeStat editor Erik Boal about her recent partnership with coach David Roche and taking advantage of a schedule without races during the Coronavirus pandemic to strengthen her aerobic fitness in preparation to take on more significant challenges and longer distances when competition does resume. Murphy, 24, reflects on the early success she has achieved as a newcomer in mountain running and trail running, highlighted by a 10-day stretch in November when she captured the 14.7-kilometer senior women's World Mountain Running title in Argentina, followed by her record-breaking performance in the 21-kilometer race at the XTERRA Trail Run World Championships in Hawaii. Murphy still has aspirations on the track and in road racing, allowing her to continue to pursue goals in each discipline as her career continues to unfold.
